‘Friends of Clara’ is a community outreach program for children with limited resources. Working with community service agencies including Transition House, CASA, CALM and Boys and Girls Club we provide complimentary tickets for young students and their families as well as an education program through which students learn about the music and history of the Nutcracker ballet.
‘Friends of Clara’ partners Santa Barbara Festival Ballet with individuals and businesses who share our vision to provide extraordinary performances opportunities to all. Through the generous financial support of many, an audience of over 600 children, students, and their families each year are given the full cultural experience of a trip to the historic Arlington Theatre for a presentation of the classic ballet The Nutcracker, while listening to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent music played by a live, full symphony orchestra.
We are grateful for the funding support we receive from these community members. Working together has allowed us to provide this holiday tradition to a very special audience in True Holiday Spirit!
