Welcome to the Santa Barbara Festival Ballet 2018-2019 season!
Fall Classes start on Monday, August 20, 2018 and will run through to Friday, June 21st, 2019. We are looking forward to an exciting new year! We will be holding an “open house” to celebrate the beginning of the new year, and other meetings to answer your questions and provide you with information on the variety of happenings at Festival Ballet. We hope you will help spread the word about our classes as well. Please share on your Facebook and be sure to “like” the Santa Barbara Festival Ballet page.
The Conservatory class schedule may be found at Conservatory Classes. Young children, teens or adults who are interested in recreational dance classes can view the Open Class schedule.
Santa Barbara Festival Ballet Performing Company
Auditions for the SBFB Performing Company will be held on Saturday, September 8th. Auditions are open to serious students who are dancing at a Grade 7 level or higher.
All students interested in auditioning for the company must attend the company meeting on Saturday, September 2nd. Parents of potential company members are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. The meeting will cover information regarding the upcoming season, including performance opportunities, member requirements, and Regional Dance America.
Dancers who absolutely cannot attend this meeting but are still interested in auditioning for the company should contact Artistic Director Aimee Lopez at email@example.com prior to the audition date.
Information regarding our annual production of the Nutcracker at the Arlington will be covered at this meeting. Dancers and parents who attend the company meeting do not need to attend a Nutcracker Participation Meeting.
Regional Dance America
SBFB’s 43rd Annual Nutcracker at the Arlington Theater
December 8th and 9th, 2018
All SBFB Conservatory students Grade 1 and up are eligible to audition for this year’s production of the Nutcracker at the Arlington. All dancers interested in auditioning must attend a Nutcracker Participation Meeting and bring a parent.
We will hold 2 separate meetings to accommodate everyone’s busy schedule. Meetings will be held on Monday, August 28th at 6:30 pm and Saturday, September 2nd at 2pm. You need only attend one of the meetings, the information provided will be the same at both.
Information detailing the audition process, rehearsal schedules, and time commitments, and what to expect during performance weekend will be provided at the meeting. This year’s volunteer coordinator, Judith Wing, will also be present to discuss the import role volunteers play in making our production happen.
Families who absolutely cannot make either meeting date must contact Artistic Director Aimee Lopez at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the auditions.
Auditions for the Nutcracker will be held on September 8th. A detailed schedule will be posted soon.
